Meet Victor
Whenever I am asked to introduce myself, it is always so nerve wracking because I never know what parts to include or what would be considered TMI (Too much information). Consider this my 5 minute elevator pitch about myself:
If I could describe myself in one word, I would choose ‘eccentric’. Let me explain – In most situations in my life, I’ve felt like a ‘fish out of water’, never really conforming to defined boxes. I like to think of myself as a multi-passionate human. You might find me trying a new recipe, dancing, watching a rom-com movie, reading a memoir or autobiography, running a marathon, watching tech reviews on Youtube, reading or writing a research article, listening to a podcast on the intricacies of the human body or maybe even advocating for social justice issues on social media. All these things cannot fit into one specific box but are all things that show the eccentricity of me.
If I could describe myself in two words, I would choose ‘quiet storm’. I am a typical introvert (INFJ on the Myers-Briggs Test to be specific). I’m not the loudest person in the room or the person who cuts people off when they have a point of their own, neither am I the person who always tells jokes. I am often the person to wait until the room is quiet then gently raise up a strong point or write an email instead of making a phone call or stay quiet in a room of 100 people but light up during a one-on-one conversation. Over the years, I have come to appreciate the uniqueness of my personality and that I am called to impact the world (well atleast the small corner that God has placed me in) and that I can do that, ever so quietly.
You remember when I said I don’t now how to describe myself? Well, in a nutshell, these are the titles I often use and that I feel very blessed to carry:
A Son (of God and my parents), a brother, a friend, an uncle, a lawyer and a ……. (more titles yet to come)
