Dear Future Wife,

Hey, How are you? Not sure if we have met before but let me introduce myself anyway. My name is Victor and I am your future husband. Sounds weird right? Please hear me out. Just thought I would write you something – pour out my heart to you. Not sure if you will read this before we start dating or I will show it to you after. Regardless, just wanted to let you know how I feel about you.

I think about you a lot – I even dream about you. I think about the things we will do together – Cooking for you while you keep me company, Going out for adventures, celebrating birthdays and valentines, going for long drives, wearing matching tees, even just going to the mall with you😂. When I listen to songs like Dear No One by Tori Kelly and When I say I do by Matthew West, I can’t help but long for the day I will meet you and spend the rest of my life with you.

I pray for you every single day. For your health and wellbeing, for your wisdom, for your career, for your family and friends and above all for your relationship with Christ. I also pray for myself too – That I will be the right man for you. That I will show you what it means to be loved just as Jesus Christ loves the church. That I will shower you with love, protect you, provide for you, encourage you, support you as you chase your dreams. Through the help of God – to be a Great Husband to you and amazing father to our kids.

I know you are the right woman for me because I know the one who ordained for us to be together – even before we were formed in our mothers’ wombs. He is the best Author and writes amazing life stories. My prayer is that we shall honour and be sold out to Him for the rest of our lives – both individually and together. 

I pray everyday that I do not make the desire to meet you, an ‘idol’. That I will not glorify the blessing of marriage and forget to honour the one who gives the blessings. That I will always remember that before you became mine, You were already His, and I am His too and together, we are His.

May we never pressure ourselves to be “couple goals” as is the norm in our generation. I know we are not perfect but I believe that we are two imperfect people who are perfect for each other and brought together by a perfect Creator. May we always strive to live according to the word of God and to use any influence and impact that we have to the Glory of our Father.

Ephesians 5 reminds me to love you like I love myself. I thank God for the gift of singleness He has given me. This time that I have taken to stop searching for you but to take time to deepen my relationship with God and to get to know myself better. I am a strong believer that before you get to know anyone else you should know yourself first. God is teaching me so much about Him that I can’t wait to share with you. I believe He is going to teach me even more – until the time that He has ordained for this class to end. 

I can’t wait to create our own family cultures and to build up generations and generations of God-fearing descendants. I am looking forward to hearing your life stories, your dreams, goals, visions and to support you to accomplish them. I can’t wait to do goofy Snapchat and Instagram videos with you😂, to make you laugh over silly stuff, to hold your hand as we walk, to sing and dance with you, to date you even after we get married, to share my hoodies with you – You can already tell I am a hopeless romantic😍.

I want to assure you that I am remaining pure for you. By God’s help, I promise to abide by the words of Proverbs 5:15 – To share my love with you only. Temptations are so many because we live in a sex saturated world, but with God’s help He shall present both of us pure on our wedding day. I know it shall be Worth the Wait.

I really long for the day I will meet you and when God’s promise will be fulfilled. I do not want to rush it though. I am willing to wait on God’s will, God’s way and God’s timing. But before we meet, I pray that we will both have a deep intimate relationship with God – That as we draw closer to God, we shall draw closer to each other.

Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
