2019 has been amazing so far and God has been so faithful – Alot of answered Prayers and Breakthroughs. My Two Words for this year are Fulfillment and Release. Fulfillment of Life(You know the abundance of Life promised in John 10:10), fulfillment of dreams and goals and also fulfillment of God’s promises in my life. As for Release, I have been following Transformation Church lately and in union with them, This Year is also my Year of Release – Release from the place of bondage, Release of the perspective of bondage and also Release into promise of Blessing.

For the Month of January, they had a whole series where they gave an in-depth explanation why this is the year of release. The 4 Sermons were so powerful, You know those kind of sermons that you listen to then you feel like you just had a heart surgery, because of how deep the word was? That’s what I’m talking about. One Sermon which really hit me was one titled The Mechanics of Making it Public. When God gives us breakthroughs or even freedom from an addiction, we often just keep quiet and Thank God in Private and never want to talk about it. However, you sharing about your journey might be the thing that helps someone in their journey. Now you might have excuses(I had lots of them) that ” Well I am not perfect and people will see my imperfections” or “I will be hated and might loose friends”. Making it public doesn’t mean that you are perfect, it simply means that you are progressing. God does not bless who you pretend to be, He blesses who you really are.

Making it public is not always easy especially in this age of social media -the “what will people say about me mentality”. God cannot use it if its a secret though. And Finally, Making it Public will manifest miracles, many miracles.

Let’s Dive in( Vulnerability Alert)

I have been saved for 9 years now and when I got saved I had this flawed idea that as a Christian I will never have temptations, weaknesses and trouble. Being also a Preacher’s Kid and now a Christian Blogger, I had the pressure to always act as if my life was perfect since I was supposed to be an example to others.

However, that was not the case. I got into pornography and masturbation at the age of 14 and have been going back and forth with it for 7 years. I questioned my sexuality from time to time. I also took drugs – Weed and alcohol when I was 16. I battled with anxiety in 2015 – One of the hardest years for me when I lost almost all my friends. I have had suicidal thoughts for the longest time. I used to be a cheater, I still struggle with social media comparison and have been so judgemental.

The reason I have decided to share this is because I believe in the power of confession. The Bible says that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony(Rev 12:11). I always found confession hard because I always thought, what If people judge me, what if I loose friends – but Confession is actually a step towards freedom. The decision to actually be H.O.T (Humble, Open and Transparent) brings about a lot of peace in life.

Honestly, writing this post wasn’t easy at all. I had made a promise to God that I will one day use my story for His Glory but I have been very reluctant to do this and have been postponing this for more than 3 months.The day is here and I thank God for His Grace to even share this boldly on my Blog. Glory to God.

I wan’t to acknowledge what God is doing in my life. This Far, He has been Ebenezer. I have been sober from drugs for one year and I have been delivered from pornorgraphy and masturbation for just a few days now. Just a few days??Really Victor. Yes, A few days might seem like such a short time but to me it shows progress. Truth be told, so many times I have fallen but I am holding on to God’s word that there is no temptation that has overtaken me except what is common to mankind. And that God is faithful he will not let me be tempted beyond what I can bear.But when I am tempted, He will also provide a way out so that I can endure it.(1st Cor 10:13) Wow, don’t we just love how good our Father is? He takes a mess and turns it to a message.

Faith without works is dead. My part is to soak into His Word and in Prayer, Changed my circle of friends who we used to take drugs with, currently pursuing a life of sexual purity, reducing the amount of time I spend on social media, because that is where I used to fall into the temptation of lust and comparison, and to even ask Him everyday to help me be humble because I struggle with pride. (Always be careful though not to ask God to humble you though, Ask Him to HELP YOU be humble. – Remember Nebuchadnezzar – He was Humbled by God and He ended up eating grass).

All in all, it is not any of my efforts that have made me free, it is all by God’s Grace. You might be reading this and you are going through what I have been through or any other thing. Whatever you are going through, just know that grace is sufficient for you,in your weaknesses. It doesn’t matter how far you have gone away from God, His hand of Grace can reach you. Just like the Prodigal son, God is ready and willing to accept you back, not as a servant but as His son. Come Back to God, confess your sins and live for Him.

The world and even the church often says that You must be clean before you can come to God. That is a Lie from the enemy – There is no condemnation if you are in Christ Jesus.(Rom 8:1). If you haven’t accepted Christ, do it – It is the first step towards a changed life.

You might not be going through any of these but You know someone who is. Please pray for them -The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective(James 5:16)

Dear Father, I pray that You may touch each and every person who will read this and even those who might not but are going through different circumstances. Be their guide and be the light to their path. We need you Jesus, We can’t do without you. ThankYou Jesus
